This is our flagship activity. It seldom operates and when it does it is an early start. A truly special encounter with the rising sun as you stand on the abyss in total silence. Everyone should do this once in their life. Photography and French Press Coffee included in the experience

What you need to bring

Just swimwear and a towel.

The Beach

Curracloe’s surf is perfect for beginners so we will have you riding your first wave in no time. It is safe to swim at all tides. Saving Private Ryan was also shot on these sands.

Private Groups

Private group surfs are available to book online or you can give us a call and tailor your Shack experience. Excellent for families, couples and group outings like hens and stags. We can run your very own time slot for Private sessions too

SUPPING IN CURRACLOE

what is on offer

Located at the foot of the raven nature reserve, Curracloe offers up an amazing paddle board experience. We also run SUP Wise training for intermediate paddlers looking to increase their knowledge & upgrade their skills on their SUP

Qualified

The Surf Shack is an ASI affiliated School in Co.Wexford with 13 years experience teaching Surf and SUP. Our instructors hold a Level 2 "open water" SUP licence so you are in safe hands.

Amazing Scenery

We paddle alongside the Curracloe Special Area of Conservation and regularly experience wildlife encounters such as grey seals & porpoises. The stunning backdrop of Curracloe is also the filming location for Spielbergs war epic Saving Private Ryan.

New to SUP

We specialise in safely introducing you to the activity and the sea. The sessions are fun, engaging and done at your own pace. SUP is fun and accessible and a great alternative to surfing.

Beach Facilities

Although our school only offers outdoor changing, Failte Ireland have built a top class changing facility with hot showers and changing space just steps from our school.
